Relinquished

I watch my life dribbling slowly away,
The blood of my veins, flowing day by day,
Adorned by a knife, a satire crease,
I can merely await, until my life were to cease.

Aware of my past, I find there no wrong,
Simply to be said, it is better for all,
As my flesh rips open, my thoughts begin to thin,
My heartbeat stops, only to begin again.

The blood of my lineage, I watch as it falls,
From the seam of a cut, a pierce to my soul,
Evoked without pain, I slice once more,
My skin erupts, ending this gristly tour.

The blade in it's glory, it's almighty gleam,
It has finished it's duty, it's only task for me,
Sanctioned on this bed, I lie in wait,
For death to grasp my soul,
Relinquished for their sake.
Relinquished was one of the very first poems I had written. I made it in one of my more... mentally unsound states-of-mind. Despite it's melancholy direction, it was generally enjoyed by my peers. It was originally known as "Cut".

All praise and criticism is embraced. Feel free to let me know of your opinion, and of ways that I could improve my way of writing. :)
